About Our Story Media

What We Do:
Who We Are:

Light painters live in the hour between the sun and the stars. The blue hour, the hour just after the sun sets and before the last light of day fades away, offers the canvas to blend art and photography into a style never seen before.

Light painting, a type of long exposure photography, has been around for decades in various forms. However, a new style, using light tubes and a model to create something entirely unique was created by Montreal based photographers Eric Pare and Kim Henry half a decade ago, who have since traveled the world sharing their methods with other photographers looking to push their creative boundaries.

The story of OSM however, begins on an island in the middle of the pacific. Hawaii photographer, Shawn Pittman, had been searching for years for a style of photography that would allow him to bring a creative, wholly unique style to the islands that would still allow him to capture Hawaii's natural beauty and magic. After stumbling upon videos from Eric Pare, teaching his style of light painting, Shawn knew had found exactly what he was looking for. The rest is history.

Shawn has spent more than two years honing his passion for light painting now learning directly from and using light painting gear made by Eric himself. He's tirelessly worked to perfect his craft in hope of sharing the art form with anyone who wishes to tell their story through light. OSM was born with the idea of giving everyone the opportunity to create photos that are beyond simply beautiful, but are uniquely and purely magic. Join us, and use the sky and the light to share a bit of your story and your beauty with the world.

Founder, Light Painter

It was nearly a decade ago when I was first pulled into the world of photography by taking photojounalism classes at the University off Oregon. Since the very first time I held a camera, I've fallen in love with the craft and never looked back.

I've since worked as a professional photographer shooting weddings, sports, and a variety of studio

and outdoor portrait photography in Honolulu. I always longed to find a style, both unique and creative that I could call my own, and have since found that in light painting, a passion I work every day to perfect.
